Track your tasksHow-to

Repeat a task or start a workflow

Two ways to create tasks you would otherwise add by hand: a task that comes back on a schedule, and a workflow template that adds a whole set of tasks with dates.

Repeat a task

Give the task a Due date first; the Repeat menu says to set one. Then choose Repeat in the side panel and pick Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly. When you mark the task Done, BoardSites creates the next one with the same title and assignee, its sub-tasks back to not done, and a due date that counts from the old due date, not from the day you finished.

Start a workflow from a template

Choose Templates in the Tasks menu and pick a workflow, such as Monthly meeting cycle, Annual PERAC filing, Public records request or RFP procurement. Choose Start on or Finish by, pick a date, and choose the button that names how many tasks it adds, such as Add 4 tasks. The tasks land in Backlog, assigned to you, each due the template's number of days after the start, and BoardSites confirms with a message that offers Undo.

Make your own workflow

Admins and editors can choose Duplicate on a built-in workflow, or New workflow, to build one of their own. Each task in it has a Day, the number of days after the start, along with its title, labels, priority, status and sub-tasks.

Automatic tasks

Under Automatic tasks, admins can switch on the tasks BoardSites creates for each election and for each RFP.
